Midnight Movies: THE WORLD ENDS WITH US

Really enjoying this free EP from Midnight Movies. Out now on Really Good Recordings.

--Inspired by late night drives and sun lit afternoons, Midnight Movies hopes to create the perfect unassuming soundtrack to those moments of bliss that sneak into everyone's life. The album draws heavily from the motifs and themes of many of the Motown classics it samples and looks to draw these into a new, more relaxed context.--

SW003: Žhii- Cloaca Maxima

Third release on Sensing Waves comes from Žhii out of Edmonton, AB. It is a series of improvisations, live takes of analog synthesizers, guitars, and heavily effected percussion. It is supplemented with instrumental flourishes, live and synthetic drumming, and found sound recorded at an industrial warehouse at various points in 2013. The song is comprised of droning atmospherics, loops played on Moog synths, guitars, and layers of effects. You can purchase it below or on iTunes.

Throwing Snow: MOSAIC

The very talented and prolific Throwing Snow has a new LP out on Houndstooth. It's super diverse and melodic with styles all across the board. Grab it below and check out his interview with XLR8R.

Futures Vol. 1 - Inner Ocean Records

Canadian label, Inner Ocean just put out this lovely compilation celebrating 2 years of operation. Grab it below for free or by donation. Much respect.

--As the title suggests, Futures Vol. 1 is just the first of such compilations to come out on the label, the focus on this release being cinematic ambient and experimental. Ironically and intentionally, Vol. 1 marks the end of "Season 1" of releases and somewhat of a change in direction for the future. New things are on the horizon.
As always we thank you for the support.--
