Dub FX Short Documentary. Lowpass TV

It's crazy watching an interview that echoes the feelings of many striving artists. Pretty sure people all over this country are still smiling from the shows Dub Fx + Flower Fairy rocked while they were here...It was an honor to open for them in Vancouver. Much respect.

Cooking Soul music video

had this in my head today...hooray for simplicity.

Widen/ Narrow

Today, Grasp The Erro and I are proud to announce that our collab EP Widen/ Narrow is out on Beatport courtesy of Atomic Zoo Recordings! The two songs were separate concepts of pushing boundaries inward and outward. I was actually battling a few challenges in my personal life, which helped me come up with the lyrics to Narrow. Writing the lyrics and putting them down was a huge release for me. Cheers to Grasp for all his patience and production skills! We are really happy with how they turned out, and are thankful for all the DJ's on the west coast who have played the tunes out! Much love and respect:)

heading east / summer flashes

August is here. Summer has been flying by. I was looking at pics from the last little while and thought I would post some here.

Kicked off July by performing at Astral Harvest in Driftpile Valley, AB for the 4th year in a row.

Slave Lake had some really bad forest fires the month prior to Astral, and then serious flooding the week of the festival. We weren't even certain if the festival would take place. Then after the entire community put their vibes into the air for sunshine, sure enough it was sunny all week. The festival was a go!

It was pretty shocking seeing the aftermath of the forest fires on the drive.

More pics...

Decor to the max as always:)

Much love to the Techno Hippy Crew for having me out again...and to PK Sound for doing what they do best!!

I got back to Vancouver on July 5, and released my new EP, Westward Rising.

For more info on the EP go here. It was a great month to share a new vision of uniting all these fantastic artists in Vancouver. Here's some posts from other good peeps about the EP-->

J'aime Le Dubstep
Grounded TV
Oh Snap
Grasp Creation
Chelsea Hailes

It definitely was a great feeling to work with all these talented artists and have full support from the community:) Big love to all the peeps who helped spread the word about Westward Rising!

On July 8, I performed alongside Grasp The Erro + Willisist for the Dub FX show at Five Sixty in Vancouver. At the beginning of the day, there were about 400 tickets sold...by the end it was sold out and 900+ people came out for a huge party! Grasp and I did a 90 minute collaborative set that involved several genres, looping, scratching, performing our original tunes live, and a few surprises.

Here are some pics courtesy of Vasho + Shah DJ's

Willisist opened and closed the night...in a large way!

It was a stellar night. Dub FX, Flower Fairy, and CAde destroyed the place...big time! Cheers to the Shah crew, Lars at Innergroove, and the Convoyunltd massive!

Flew over to Texada Island that morning to perform at Diversity Festival.

It was my first time there. I did an hour performance on the Diversity stage. It was fun getting all the kids involved by getting them to loop sounds on my pedal. Lotsa good family vibes...and this view-->

Cheers to Jesse and Wes for getting me on board this festival. Big ups to Vespers and Kelsey Grant for letting me jam with them during their set:)

Rounded out the month of July at Bass Coast Project in Squamish Valley for the 3rd straight year. I missed a lot cause I arrived on Saturday and it rained ALL night...but from seeing everyone's posts and pictures..and from everything I felt and witnessed..it truly was an amazing time. It's byfar one of the most important events in Western Canada's electronica movement. At the end of my set on the Slay Bay stage on Sunday afternoon, the sun finally came out...I threw on my collab with The Outlier called Daytime Lullaby. Everyone went crazy, and it was of my favorite festival moments ever...

The Outlier feat Shamik + Jamyn- DAYTIME LULLABY by shamik

On Sunday night, I hosted the main stage. It was a huge honor to be up there with my homies! Here's a clip of HxdB droppin his remix of Keep It Round by Longwalkshortdock...look how crazy the stage looks...

Got to intro The Librarian as well (for the third year in a row...hooray for traditions!) as she played tunes off her new EP...

BIG THANKS to The Librarian, the Bass Coast Girls, and everyone involved. Year 3 was THE year:) Some pics I took-->

So I'm headin out to Montreal to perform at Bass Drive with Vilify.

Vilify is one of the hardest working DJ's in Eastern Canada, and Bass Drive was voted #1 club night in the Montreal Mirror's 'Best of Montreal.' I had a blast out there in October...and am stoked to rock with Wicked Fat Noize (who I performed with in Ottawa last year) again too. Hope to see all my Montreal peeps at The Belmont this Wednesday! Then on Fri/ Sat/ Sun this week I'll be performing at the Brampton Global Jazz & Blues Festival in Ontario! Other headliners include Bobby McFerrin, Dr. John, Downchild Blues Band, Rita Chiarelli. Among my multiple sets all over the city, I'll be jamming with Juno winner + Grammy nominee Jane Bunnett. 5 shows in 5 days..here we go!

Thanks very much for reading. Lots of love...

Was listening to Bare Hands by DJG + Komodo...and was reminded how good this double Voids EP is...Timeless sounds that you can get lost in...
