The Librarian- Arctic Swallow

Today marks the release of Arctic Swallow by The Librarian...just in time for Bass Coast Project...one of the summer's most anticipated festivals in Western Canada. The Librarian has an integral place on the coast by being one third of the Bass Coast Girls, a producer, vocalist, and resident DJ at the Maxx Fish in Whistler. She is pretty much the equivalent of a superwoman. We are all honored to have her as our friend:) Her attention to every detail in life and musically exemplify how tapped into the world she truly is. The sounds of Arctic Swallow feel like a journey through nature...and this weekend we will hear them in a large way in Squamish Valley. Arctic Swallow is the first release in the East Van Digital artist series. Much love goes out to The Librarian!

The west coast is on fire.

NEW RELEASE - EVDEP001 - The Librarian - Arctic Swallow EP by East Van Digital

New Björk video.

Directed by Michel Gondry...

skyence- unbalanced

Skyence uploaded unreleased tunes from 2000-2007 on soundcloud today...some really nice mellow vibes here...

Unbalanced (Unreleased Works from 2000-2007) by skyence

Excerpt from Skyence's soundcloud:

Skyence - Unbalanced is a compilation of previously unreleased works, composed & produced between 2000 and 2007. My music back then has been highly inspired by the likes of Dj Krush, Dj Shadow, Jazzanova or Cinematic Orchestra.

There is almost no Limiting or Sum-Compression on the mixes and I like it that way - there's a little knob that says "Volume" on your system - use it!

I hope you enjoy listening as I enjoyed making this! ;)

The first time I ever heard DubFX's music, it was via this video called Flow featuring Mr. Woodnote on the saxophone-->

I really felt his music, vocals, lyrics, and all around vibe...funny how that can happen without having met him. Like millions of people worldwide, I spent a lot of time catching up on old clips and songs. In the last couple years, I've been following everything he's been up to and really believing in it all. The man has something to say with a positive message to spread. In December, I performed in New Delhi and Mumbai in India and missed him in both cities by a few days. He actually had stickers all over those places that said 'Warning, DubFX is here' ...and that's pretty much how the vibe feels today!

DubFX is in Vancouver. DubFX is in Canada. Tonight is his first ever show in Canada...and I'm thrilled to see him live..let alone share the stage with him.

A few months ago, I was with Grasp The Erro chatting about new music we were working on. We both made a DubFX reference about a tune we were into called Step On My Trip-->

Such a killer song! A few days later ShahDJ's and Inner Groove reached out to let us know about tonight's show. Synchronicity is always our friend:) Apparently 600+ tickets have been sold and we are AMPED.

See you tonight Vancouver peeps! DubFX has inspired us all! As soon as our set is complete, you can be sure we'll be on the dance floor rockin out!!!

Stellar tune from XI outta Toronto...

New concept. New vision-

I was flying over the Rockies back to Vancouver after a great show. At the time, I was collaborating on 3 tunes with 3 different producers. Each song was on my mind. Then I had the idea to put together a project featuring all Western Canadian artists. After a few emails that day, a bunch of talented people were on board! Our community is growing, we're all friends, and the music is doing all the talking. The purpose of this release is for you to feel the west rising. It's only fitting that Volume 1 of this series features all artists from Vancouver. Let's face it...our city is putting out some top notch sounds these days! It was a huge honor to lay down vocals on these 6 tunes, and I feel blessed to share 30 minutes of original Vancouver music!
