The Katalyst: Episode 3

Yeah! Here's the third installment of The Katalyst where I am the house band for Kevin Carroll!!

--An accomplished artist is given a unique project to capture the "story" of some "difficult" talent via oil painting. Learn about the artist - Jenny Harmon-Scott. Meet the "difficult" talent - KC's "RedRubberBall" Collection. Hear a few inspiring stories of how a ball is changing the world.--

So it's funny when you have deadlines that rely on each other. That's what is going on with me right now. New album coming out, new website being launched, tour next month, festival circuit the month after...it's happening cause it has to! I'm feeling really good about everything and all the people that I'm working with. The weather in Vancouver has been sweet which has kept the inspiration levels high. I love this city and I love this country.

Speaking of being Canadian...here's a shot of me with our patriotic mascot...I walked by this in Olympic village yesterday. More details and info soon. Bless...

dancing in chains

Have had this song in my head for a bit now...some info on aKido:

aKido is the pseudonym of Canadian electronic rock musician and composer Kim Gaboury. Gaboury assembles a live band to tour with; this live component is generally considered a separate entity from aKido in the recording studio.

As of 23 September 2007, according to The R3-30, the aKido song Dancing in Chains was the third-most popular indie song in Canada.

god loves hair

GOD LOVES HAIR (Teaser) from Vivek Shraya on Vimeo.

My brother, Vivek Shraya, wrote a book! He is touring to promote and read excerpts from it. His dates:

May 27- Toronto: The Ossington
June 1- Ottawa: Venus Envy Bookstore
June 3- Vancouver: Little Sister’s Book & Art Emporium
June 4- Winnipeg: Crossways in Common
June 6- Edmonton: The Artery

Does anyone else out there have trouble sleeping when they're playing the waiting game? It's hard to even share potential good news these days. Paranoia of jinxing it or the worry that plans might fall through are two aspects that keep me quiet. Nonetheless, I've been up late all week. Here's hoping...

modificateur de voix

So I was in the studio with Mr. LongWalkShortDock the other day...he had a tickle trunk/ plethora of noise-making toys...as you could imagine this was like candy for me:-) Here's a clip of me playin around with a Voice Changer aka Modificateur de Voix. It had a switch with 3 settings so I managed to make some interesting sounds along with a classic psy-trance beat. Thank you Toys R Us for $10 toys and minutes of useful fun. Oh and stay tuned for the beatbox vs LWSD collabo. POW!
